Our Services
Testing
We offer a variety of fiber optic test services. These services are included when we install and terminate our clients' fiber optic network. We will also provide these services upon request for customers looking to upgrade their network and needing an assessment and evaluation of their existing fiber optic infrastructure. In addition to the testing, we will provide our clients with an analysis and test result package in any format requested by the customer and we will maintain this documentation in our database for future reference. We can provide extra specialized testing and analysis of our clients' network to ensure the fiber optic infrastructure meets the requirements of today's specialized equipment,such as WDM and DWDM.
Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing
In order to ensure your optical spans meet the requirements of your equipment and to ensure all termination services are within the industry standard, we will perform the following OTDR tests:
Dual wavelength and bi-directional final acceptance testing will be performed on all fibers installed and terminated by Selrico Communications.
Bare fiber testing of pre-installation fiber reels. We will perform dual wavelength testing of this fiber upon request.
Bare fiber testing of post installation fibers. This is to ensure your fiber cable was not damaged during installation and will provide additional information to the cable manufacturer in the event of an anomaly.
Final Acceptance testing of all fibers installed by others. We will perform dual wavelength and bi-directional testing on fibers installed by third parties to ensure our clients have received a good fiber system.
Loss Testing
We will perform optical (power) loss testing on all fibers installed and terminated by Selrico Communications, LLC. This loss testing will be performed using the latest state of the art Optical Loss Test Sets (OLTS) comprised of a meter and source. Dual wavelength and bi-directional testing will be performed to provide an accurate loss measurement in order for our clients to know if they are within their equipments loss budget.
Test Analysis & Documentation
Selrico Communications, LLC will provide, in conjunction with testing, a fully detailed test analysis package otherwise known as the "Final Acceptance Package." Included in the package are the Exception/Summary/Uni & Bi-directional splice loss reports. We will also provide the "raw" trace data, trace views in an Adobe format (to include event tables) and power loss reports in an Adobe format. All the documentation will be presented to our customers on a CD format to include any e-mail correspondence, electronic documentation, and any other detailed information pertaining to the project.
Specialized Testing
In addition to any standard testing, Selrico Communications, LLC also offers specialized testing to any customer requiring such testing. We will assist our customers in determining whether the existing, new, or upgraded optical network meets the needs of some of today's newer transmission systems. This will be accomplished through a series of tests known as "Fiber Characterization."
